You don’t have to be a professional athlete in order to feel comfortable at a Down Dog Yoga class. The teachers and the rest of the team cultivate an atmosphere of inclusivity, welcoming people from all walks of life. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or you’ve never struck a single Child’s Pose, you’ll feel welcomed at Down Dog Yoga.
However, if you fall into the latter category, you should start with one of the slower paced classes to get the hang of things. The Power Basics class lays out the main movements of Baptiste Power yoga, allowing you the time to master each of them. It doesn’t ease back on the intense heat, though—it’s held in a room hovering right around 95 degrees, just like the other classes. The Hot Power 75 and Hot Power 90 both move at a quicker clip in a similarly sweltering studio, but both offer modifications for different levels of ability.
